Chapter 3 – Xtreme Squad

The jeep drove over different roads and streets rushing to the Government Square as bombs were thrown by random cars driving madly along the city. People were screaming and running into buildings. They ran across the streets as the jeep dodged around them. They noticed that Akuryou had employed a large number of criminals to bomb buildings, murder the public and cause maximum disorder in the city. The jeep was nearing the Government Square where Lucas stood up in the Jeep and let Yuri take over from the driving.

“Jasper, we are gonna jump from the jeep and the girls here are going to race around the city shooting down any criminal they see. We have to reach Charles as soon as possible,” Lucas explained to the other.

They drove on the highway seeing the Government Square next to them and Lucas and Jasper jumped off the jeep and over the highway bridge landing on the ground. They started running along the streets towards the building where a mass gathering had been.

While Lucas and Jasper were fighting the criminals outside of the building, Charles the Prime Leader watched his office doors blow open by Akuryou and Garth one of his top henchmen storming into the office. Garth was a shaved headed large male with a army jacket on and a machine gun by his side. Garth came towards Charles and he bolted towards the door until Akuryou punched him in the face sending him to the ground.

“You’re not going anywhere Mr. Thompson because you are important to our cause,” Akuryou replied.

“And your cause is?” Charles asked him from the ground bleeding.

“We are here to have some fun and to give Xtreme Squad something to do for the time being. I do love the fact that you thought you could clean up the city but you forget with such a history that can never happen. With your dear friend the Professor gone and his daughter, Lucas and his so called Squad is just a weak version of protection. Go with Garth and I will restore the city back to its former glory,” Akuryou explained.

Garth picked up Charles and tied him up. Akuryou walked outside of the Government Square through a side exit watching Lucas and Jasper making their way inside the building. He saw Ben in a four wheel drive as he climbed into and turned to him, “Garth’s past mission for me was to collect a special object that was found in the deserts of the Deathlands. He has delivered the object to the Halls of Destiny where the first government was made. I want you to go now so we can complete the task at hand,” he told Ben. He nodded and the four wheel drive sped off in a flash away from the Government Square.

Lucas and Jasper fired shots at the criminals attacking them. Jasper unleashed his sword skills stabbing two henchmen in the neck. Lucas waved his club weapon around with fire magic burning criminals everywhere around him and smashing the office doors in to see where Charles was.

“Fuck, where is he!” he shouted.

He tapped his earpiece and the laser microphone appeared, “Mamoru can you locate where Charles is at all?” he asked her.

Mamoru was back at the headquarters putting scans on all the security cameras in the city looking for him, “He is moving with someone else who isn’t Akuryou two blocks away from Government Square in the west direction,”

“Give me a profile on the person who has him, “Lucas said jogging out of the office and hand signaling Jasper to come follow him outside of the building.

“Garth Trents, is a former worker for the drug lord Kanto West. He has recently been off the radar until now. I suspect he has been an ally for Akuryou for a while,” she answered him.

“Kanto West rings a bell, profile him too. Jasper come with me bro let’s go!” he shouted as the two headed outside of the building.

“Kanto West is a deceased drug lord who had a mixed relationship with other criminals and who kept his business activities away from Censilo. He has had early dealings from many years ago from Mr. Umezu for weapons and protection guards. He was killed by Chisoutsa,” she said profiling him.

“Sweet, that’s why I remembered him. Contact Kuzuki and Yuri and tell them to meet us two blocks to the west. We have to catch up to Garth and Charles,” Lucas told Mamoru.

“Message received and will follow,” Mamoru answered as Lucas’s microphone disappeared from sight.

The two men took off running across the streets as more criminals and gunmen appeared from nowhere. Lucas waved the club weapon towards them a bolt of lightning shot straight at them knocking them down.

“Now that’s the fucking magic show I wanna see!” Jasper shouted out to Lucas.

They crossed a final set of roads with incoming traffic when Garth was seen in the distance with Charles hands tied up. He ran with Charles into a crowded market full of people rising his gun up in the air. The two squad members pushed their way through the crowd as Garth came out onto a street. The Jeep suddenly appeared around the corner with Yuri driving and Kuzuki firing from the machine at the back of it. Lucas and Jasper pushed through the market crowd as Jasper turned around to the crowd for a moment.

“Man I swear there’s something or someone following us or watching us. Fucking weird,” he said to himself.

Jasper ran up to Lucas as Garth was trapped by the jeep and Yuri and Kuzuki jumped down blocking him and Charles from escaping. Lucas walked up to Garth gave a smash to his stomach by the club weapon.

“You ok dude?” Jasper asked Charles as he untied him.

“Yes I’m fine just pretty tired. Where is Akuryou?” he replied.

Lucas gave another smash at Garth as he dropped to his knees in pain, “Where is he Garth. We know you know where he is.”

“I don’t know where he is. He’s going somewhere but he wouldn’t tell me so you wouldn’t follow him,” Garth answered.

Lucas tapped his earpiece, “Mamoru can you give a location on where Akuryou could be,” he asked.

“Checking the cameras and the only major place he might be visiting is the Halls of Destiny. Three people are heading there,” Mamoru answered.

“What…three people?” Garth murmured on the ground.

“Why are you surprised about that?” Jasper asked him.

“Only Akuryou and Ben are going that’s why. Don’t know who the third person is,” Garth answered. Lucas walked around and told Kuzuki and Yuri to handle Garth while the police came to arrest him.

“Mamoru, can you indentify the third person you have seen on the cameras?” Lucas asked back to headquarters.

“I have been able to do so but it’s not making sense, the image was hard to clear up for some reason or another. This person is listed as deceased,” she answered confused.

Lucas and the rest of the squad looked worried as they wondered who it was and how that person was still alive.

The marbled stone shined brightly the history of The City of Demons and its government history. Akuryou and Ben walked through the large rooms towards the main where Akuryou’s present awaited him.

“These halls are almost holy boss. I’m quite impressive by it all. What is this object that you found?”  Ben asked him.

“Yes there is beauty in The City of Demons, despite it was made by the government of its time they knew how to craft a masterpiece. My friend and ally there something I found in the discussions papers that was messy. Something that surprised me that these people couldn’t complete,” Akuryou replied.

In the main room stood a long table of ingrained letters declaring the first government and some bookcases filled of books discussing its history. On that table was a purple floating ball of energy and a black coloring in the middle. Ben looked fearful as Akuryou approached the ball of energy with excitement. Dark voices were coming out of the energy ball when Ben stepped back.

“They were messy and couldn’t complete the job. Not the entire Lords of terror in this world was defeated. Only one lives but in a prison thou the blackness of it is something I did not encounter,” Akuryou boomed out loud.

“Not all of the Lords? What are you talking about? Are you sure you know what you are doing boss?” Ben asked with a racing heartbeat.

“Yeah we would like to know what you’re doing too,” boomed another voice from the background.

Akuryou turned around to see Lucas and Jasper had arrived to the Hall of Destiny to confront him, “Give it up whatever you are doing,” Lucas told Akuryou.

“What I’m doing is releasing Warwarth the Ghost Lord, the job your bitch of a sister couldn’t complete,”

“You can’t get away with this. How the hell did you find that?” he asked him.

“A good old energy device finder and the fact that you and your mentor buddy Frithdar just released Warwarth from your sister’s soul and threw it away. You didn’t destroy him and I will use him to control the city. He will love the idea of killing the brother of the girl who caused much heartbreak for him,” Akuryou smirked at Lucas.

“Not today you won’t,” Lucas replied and him and Jasper started to make their attack. An electric ray shot from behind them and shook them both to the ground.

“How the hell did you shot us from that direction?” Jasper asked Akuryou lying on the ground trapped.

Akuryou raised his face to them concerned, “It wasn’t me and it wasn’t the energy ball. Someone else is here. Someone has been following us to this location for a while now. Who is it?” he shouted out.

The mystery figure appeared from behind Lucas and Jasper lying on the ground. It was a female vampire who was smiling to everyone in the room. She walked past the two squad members and stood in the middle of the room.

“Who are you, speak, and why did you follow us,” Akuryou shouted at her.

“My name is Sarge and I am an old ally of the Vampire Lust. I would have loved to see the face on Chisoutsa’s face if she was here,” she answered smiling happily.

Lucas rolled over on his side away from Sarge and contacted Mamoru, “Mamoru, we need the girls need now. I also need you to bring up the profile of Sarge the female vampire, she is listed in the deceased section,” Lucas whispered.

There was a pause for a moment, “They are on their way. Sarge was the leading follower of the Vampire Lust who had feeling for him and would do anything for him. Her history suggested some good mixes of fighting skills and magic to counter the attack from wizards and demons set in the old war against Censilo the Demon Lord. It was suggested she had been killed but what is happening, she survived your sister and the crashing of the Vampire Lust’s castle. She must have been in hiding all this time,” Mamoru answered.

“Thanks,” Lucas whispered tapping off the earpiece and rolling back to see Sarge and Akuryou’s discussion.

“So you’re a follower of the dead Vampire Lust. What is it that you want? You must have known the plan to bring Warwarth out of his sleep and you spent a number of years not active or showing to the public. You choose now to come back. Tell me vampire, tell me everything,” Akuryou asked her.

“I want something inside the energy ball. You don’t have the magic ability to do so but together we can raise Warwarth out of his sleep. When he does the blackness of the energy ball will turn into a black crystal. That is Chisoutsa’s DNA, her demon side, the blood of Censilo the Demon Lord is still alive,” Sarge answered.

“What do you plan to do with the black crystal?” Lucas asked from behind her.

“For once Lucas asks a good question. Do tell,” Akuryou added with a firm voice.

“Through strong and powerful magic to resurrect Censilo from his death and to bring back my love the Vampire Lust through his power,” Sarge answered.

There was a long pause between Lucas, Jasper, Akuryou and Ben on her answer, “You’re insane but I’ll do it. Let’s get this over and done with,” Akuryou answered with agreement.

For a quick moment Akuryou with Sarge looking away he smirked at Lucas and winked at him. Lucas wasn’t sure what he was trying to get at. Kuzuki and Yuri appeared inside the room at last and helped get Lucas and Jasper up.

“What have we missed?” Yuri asked Jasper.

“Everything, like fucking everything,” Jasper whispered to her.

Akuryou and Sarge were side by side and chanted words of the Ghost Lord as the energy ball rose into the air as smoke and energy grew larger and larger. The figure and full force of Wararth the Ghost Lord making the Halls of Destiny shake like crazy. The Xtreme Squad tried to keep their balance as Wararth was awoken and eyed Lucas Walken.

“I remember you,” his ghastly voice booming across the room shaking the bookcases and the marble walls.

The energy ball released the black crystal up into the air as Sarge and Akuryou watched it.

“I still to follow my own master Sarge but I’ll never do it again!” he shouted unleashing his sword and hitting the black crystal away from Sarge and straight over towards Lucas. He stepped a few meters back and just caught it by his fingernails.  He fell down with a thump as he turned around to see a angry Sarge charging up her magic and showing her fangs and Wararth the Ghost Lord remembering how he was defeating by Lucas and his sister.

“Run!” screamed Lucas as the Xtreme Squad made their way out of the Halls of Destiny as Sarge and Wararth gave chase. Akuryou sat in the background with a biggest smile on his face.

“This day couldn’t have worked out better than I expected. The City of Demons is mine,” he smiled with Ben watching on the chaos.

The four members bolted out to the jeep and turned the key. The jeep flew off with a bang away from Sarge as Wararth stopped for a moment and turned back to Akuryou, “That’s right, I freed you and you will serve me. Don’t worry it’s just the same things that you want. Control and power,” Akuryou smiled at him.

The Xtreme Squad had escaped but now was facing the dangers of Akuryou, Sarge the Vampire, and Wararth the Ghost Lord. A fellowship of evil had been cast over the city again.
